Our History
Crafted in 1895 by William Critchlow Harris, one of Canada's most celibrated architects,
St. Joseph’s Inn is marked by a rich sense of local history and tradition. This elegant Victorian property showcases not only breathtaking views of PEI's rural landscape, but tells the sacred story of a priest whose devotion to his faith became an enduring part of the area’s heritage. Restored to its former glory, this space offers guests a meaningful glimpse into the past while they enjoy a quiet, comfortable, and welcoming stay.
The Island's Your Oyster
Enjoy the peace and beauty of the Prince Edward Island countryside while remaining within easy reach of sightseeing, dining and everyday conveniences.
St. Joseph’s Inn is conveniently located only a few minutes from groceries, cafés and casual restaurants in Crapaud. Almost 25 km of groomed cross country ski and mountain bike trails await our adventurous guests just next door, and the charming seaside village of Victoria-by-the-Sea is only 10 minutes away.
Spend the day exploring red-sand beaches, artisan shops, waterfront restaurants and the breathtaking Confederation Bridge, or travel approximately half an hour to experience the historic streets, shops, restaurants and waterfront of Charlottetown, Cavendish and Summerside. Green Gables is also within comfortable day-trip distance.
Whether you are looking for quiet country roads, coastal scenery, skiing and outdoor trails, Island history or fresh local seafood, St. Joseph’s Inn provides a peaceful and key home base for discovering the best of Prince Edward Island.
